Yeah so I was going to right this article about wireless security, really, and then there I was surfing around and the fine folks at Ars Technica went ahead and wrote "The ABCs of securing your wireless network." After that, there really isn't any need for me to write it, great article guys.

BTW, I just realized that this marks my 100th entry here on TastyYellowSnow.com. In my head I'm throwing a party at the moment.

At least through Zach Galifianakis' eyes. Good, funny stuff...

So I've been bitching to myself for for a while now about Outlook being so god awful slow so I started the morning poking around for some answers and found quite a few people talking about the included RSS feed reader being the root of all their evils. I didn't think I'd been using the RSS reader at all but lo and behold It was automatically bringing in feeds for Microsoft at Home, Microsoft at Work, and MSNBC, the last of which had 3500+ unread messages in it. So I did the following...

1. Remove the RSS feeds from my Accounts Settings (Tools>Account Settings>RSS Feeds)
2. Delete the storage folders from the RSS Feeds folder.

Once I restarted Outlook performance is now noticeably better. For those who have to go the extra mile mention was also made of telling Outlook to not try to use the Common RSS Feeds List, something that is probably redundant if you've removed all the RSS feeds already but may be a better option. Anyway to clear this...

3. Go to Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options and clear the check box for "Sync RSS Feeds to the Common Feeds List."

As part of the upcoming release of Windows Server 2008 Microsoft's put out a couple of movies that are funny as hell. In particular is the one below, "The Lone Server," regaling the last Windows Server 2003 running at Microsoft. The awesome part is where they actually make fun of themselves. Enjoy people.
